Make sure not to make any plans for a night out next Monday, because the city will be completely alcohol-free. Here’s what you need to know:
In celebration of Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, Dubai will be dry (aka alcohol-free) from 5 pm on Monday, November 19th till 6 pm the next night. Sorry to mislead you with the title of this article, but unfortunately the dryness will last a whole 24 hours.
According to an official statement from the Department of Tourism and Commerce, alcohol is forbidden in any establishment with a liquor license (including hotels, sorry to the tourists) in the city. There is some good news because Sunday, November 18th is a public holiday which means…long weekend! Enjoy the day off and make sure you take full advantage of it!
